The Society for Technological Advancement (SoTA) launched in 2024 with the mission of driving scientific and technological progress by building talent density and promoting pragmatic optimism about the future. We value promise and potential over prestige and existing credentials.

SoTA operates as a non-profit community interest company (CIC) limited by guarantee. We are directed by Jamie Croucher and Matvey Boguslavskiy, and supported by a team of volunteers and advisors with experience spanning deeptech startups, scientific research, engineering R&D, venture capital, and government.
