About us

SoTA is a society operating as a non-profit community interest company (CIC) limited by guarantee. We launched in 2024 and run deeptech hackathons, demo nights, engineering commissions, debates, and a journal called SoTA Letters.

We are directed by Jamie and Matvey, supported by a team of volunteers, and advised by individuals including Arnaud Schenk (Polaris Fellowship, Aztec Foundation), Dr James Phillips (Consciousness Foundation, ex-No10), Dr Walter Goodwin (Fractile), Prof Tyler Cowen (Emergent Ventures), and Thomas Milton (Amodo Design).
